FAMILY FRIENDLY

 

Our charters are family-friendly and illicit drugs are prohibited. We certainly promote the kids coming along and we cater to the entire family. Our goal is to concentrate more on the whole family and try to get everyone in on the action. We specialize in light tackle fishing using the exciting and very productive bait and switch technique.  Part of our mission is to teach anyone our techniques that they can take with them anywhere else in the world when sport fishing for marlin, sailfish, and dorado (mahi mahi). It’s all about having fun!

 

CONSERVATION

 

Mad Marlin Lodge practices strict catch and release on all bill fish and rooster fish.  This policy in Guatemala has help make us the #1 destination in the world for sailfish with boats releasing and yearly average of 12-15 sail fish per boat per day!  Dorado, Tuna, Mackerel, etc are considered the clients fish and they may take it with them or distribute it however they desire.  Unlike some boats that keep the fish we believe that it is the clients trip that has been paid for by them and it would be unethical for the fish to belong to the boat!
